A holistic approach
Your body is an interconnected whole and nurturing it alongside your neurosurgical condition, in whatever way that needs to be managed, will pay dividends. Dividends for your recovery, health in general and sense of wellbeing. The human body is incredibly resilient, but paying attention to how you nourish it (food, exercise, mind) will serve to help it do its job so much better, helping you recover and maintain better heath and wellbeing for now and the future. In the sections that follow I include advice on ways that may help your physical and mental health. The advice I give comes from my own personal and professional learning and journey as a neurosurgeon and fellow human. What I write is by no means exhaustive but I do hope that you will find it interesting and helpful. In each section I also include links to further resources you may find of value and some sources of inspiration.
